Exhibition: Claire Poisson
From February 4 to March 22, 2025
Opening Thursday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Claire Poisson uses engraving both as a means of expression and as a way of exploring the world. A 2005 graduate of the École Estienne, she set up a workshop in Cambodia and worked alongside printers in Quebec, Spain, and South Africa.
Her focus on place and nature plays a significant role in her practice, which she expands to include sculpture and installation. In 2018, she joined the Royal College of Art in London. Her work now examines the relationships between image, matrix, and object.
Her books emerge from collaborations with other artists as well as personal research. A guest at the 2023 Xylofil festival, her latest publication, *Tailles douces*, is a portfolio of wood engravings accompanied by typographic text, stemming from residencies in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
